Going Abroad

Fri Sep 23, 2011, 11:04 AM
What's up guys? It's been awhile since my last post because of school and the fact that I'm just lazy when it comes to this stuff.

Anyways, lately I haven't really been on except to check for any messages and to thank people who favorite my work. College is really starting to pick up the pace and whenever I actually have free time I'm too tired to do anything haha. I am taking a painting class this semester but unfortunately I won't be able to post my works on here until the end of the semester because the professor wants to keep the paintings in the studio to look back on for future reference and to see if we improve. We're currently on our 3rd project and have finally moved from gray scale to color.

I've also recently been trying to make plans for studying abroad next year in Japan! I think in college you should take the most advantage of everything you've got and that's what I'm doing. I'll be apart of this "Direct Exchange" program where all I have to do is pay tuition for my school for either a semester or year, depending on how long I decide to stay, and they send me over there. I do have to worry about living expenses and stuff though which is why I am also trying to get a part-time/full-time job to save up for the amount of time I'll be staying.

While I'm in Japan I plan to take tons of pictures and post them on here which is part of the reason why I want to take a photography class next semester as well so that I can post really cool images of Tokyo at its best.

So that's just what I've been up to lately and will continue working on as the semester progresses. As mentioned in my previous entry I do in fact have a YouTube channel where I try to post video game commentaries weekly. Since its creation about a month ago 25 people have subscribed and I have over seventeen-hundred video views altogether, 10 videos, and no dislikes. So if you're the kind of person that likes game commentaries and the like please feel free to check it out here!:

I'm currently working on a logo (which is looking awesome so far) and introduction music on my violin. Thanks for checking out my gallery and
have an awesome day!

Does God Exist?

A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed. As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation.

They talked about so many things and various subjects.

When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said: 'I don't believe that God exists.'

'Why do you say that?' asked the customer.

'Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist. Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children?

If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain.

I can't imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things.'

The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument.

The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop.

Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard. He looked dirty and unkempt. The customer turned back and entered the barbershop again and he said to the barber:

'You know what? Barbers do not exist.'

'How can you say that?' asked the surprised barber. 'I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!'

'No!' the customer exclaimed. 'Barbers don't exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside.'

'Ah, but barbers DO exist! That's what happens when people do not come to me.'

'Exactly!' affirmed the customer. 'That's the point! God, too, DOES exist! That's what happens when people do not go to Him and don't look to Him for help. That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world.

~ShadowWinds has started a donation pool!
10 / 700
So originally on here I posted that this module was going to be for donating points towards a premium membership of which I would give to someone else. But now I've decided that a much more effective way would be to just make this a donation pool of which I would give the donated points away to other deviants instead of saving up for one specific thing. This way more people can get more points. So basically this is a donation pool where once I reach the point goal I will give the points away to other deviants who need them:).

You must be logged in to donate.
